Social Work
I have been actively indulging in the social work and extra-curricular activities not to limit myself within the curriculum. I served as the President of IT department’s official club – Infocrats for the past year during which, we organized various technical events, expert lectures, workshops and social events, and substantially contributed in the Institute’s Annual Technical Festival – NUTech. Being the President, I often met with unexpected situations and unforeseen problems and dealing with them sharpened my decision-making abilities.
I also volunteered as Public Relations Manager for eight weeks at Akshardham, a famous monument situated in the capital city of India. I got to interact with visitors from around the world and also know about our cultural diversities. Working in the Public Relations department gave me the opportunity to manage things in crunch situations and handling day-to-day crisis.
As a service to the society, I have also actively contributed to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’s (IEEE) Women Literacy Program wherein we introduce the disadvantaged women to the world of computers. It was satisfying to see those women getting fascinated with the technology and showing curiosity and eagerness to learn.
